-Someone I know is milking the hell out of the unemployment system. I
mean the guy seriously has made ZERO effort to find employment, and
just collects his check every week.
I know that it's not my place to judge, but WTF should I do about
this? Because I have a serious moral dilema in him collecting a check
of taxpayer dollars while not even trying to find work... There may be
tons of people doing the same thing, but I don't know them and I can't
do anything about their behavior. But this is someone I know.
-The second problem is that I'm pretty sure the dude in question
spends the time (when he should be job searching) sitting around the
house smoking weed. I can't prove that one, but I know that the guy
hasn't been hitting skunks in his living room... There is no wildlife
problem in his appartment complex... But I can't prove it.
Seriously though, I can't believe the position that this guy has put
me in. He's a friend, but I really think he's a son of a bitch when it
comes to this whole thing.
If he ever did work and pay his taxes then all that money he's drawing out is just his own money. And once he does get a new job he'll be putting it all back in again whether he likes it or not.
ReplyDeleteMeh, as much as I'd like to hold out that much hope Steve, my state wastes money like a drunken sailor on shore leave. The money he's spending is coming out of the general budget... My state legislature couldn't save a dime if they were legally required to.
ReplyDeleteAnd his plans are currently; "When my benefits run out I'll probably move back east and live with my parents until I find something." With every current extension (should he get them all), thats a year and a half from now drawing over $600 a week...
